“Congress has vision for development”: Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Chouhan – World News Network

Indore (Madhya Pradesh) [India], October 1 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asserted on Saturday that the Congress party lacks a vision for the state’s development. He highlighted that the current BJP government, renowned for its welfare-oriented policies, has the necessary resources to ensure prosperity in the state.
Addressing a public meeting in Indore, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said, “I want to ask the people of the state whether the number of development work done by BJP government in Indore was done by Congress during their rule. Congress has no vision for development. There was no money in the previous congress governments but today there is no dearth of money for the developmental works.”
Earlier CM Chouhan inaugurated the trial process of the first phase of the metro rail in Indore.
“Today my heart is happy. Our Indore has entered a new phase. Residents of Indore, Metro is just the beginning, together we will make Indore one of the best cities in the world. Now the pace of development of Indore is not going to stop,” CM Chouhan posted on X.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a strong attack on the BJP, saying its government in Madhya Pradesh was the “epicentre of corruption” and was not paying the proper price to farmers for their crops.
Addressing a rally in Shajapur in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Gandhi also attacked the BJP-led government at the Centre, saying it had not released caste census data and there was a very small representation of OBCs in central government’s secretary-level posts.
Gandhi attacked the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government and said Congress state governments work for the poor and keep their promises to the people.
“Madhya Pradesh government is not giving the right price to the farmers for their crops. Go and ask the farmers of Chhattisgarh how much money they get for the paddy crop. What we promised, we completed it. For the first time in the history of India, farmers are paying taxes. They implemented GST, our government works for the poor and farmers,” Rahul Gandhi said.
BJP has so far declared candidates for 78 seats out of 230 in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
The state is scheduled to go for the Assembly polls later this year. (ANI)
