New Delhi [India], August 20 (ANI): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed his condolences over the death of nine army jawans after their vehicle fell into a gorge in Ladakh and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Taking to his social media handle X, formerly known as Twitter, Kharge said that the country will be ‘indebted’ to soldiers.
“The news of the martyrdom of 9 soldiers due to an accident of an army truck in Leh is very sad. We will always be indebted to our brave soldiers. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and relatives of the brave soldiers. We wish the injured a speedy recovery,” Kharge said on Saturday.
He further said that the whole country is with the families of the victims in this hour of grief.
According to defence officials, as many as nine Indian Army personnel were killed and one was injured after their vehicle fell into a gorge in Ladakh.
According to officials, the accident occurred around 6.30 pm. “The troops were moving from Karu garrison to Kyari near Leh,” they added.

Meanwhile, Condoling the demise of the soldiers, Rahul Gandhi has also expressed his condolences and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
In a condolence message, on his social media handle X, the Congress MP wrote,” The news of the martyrdom of many of our soldiers due to the accident of an army vehicle in Ladakh is extremely sad. I pay my humble tribute to all the martyrs. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the Jawans. I hope for the speedy recovery of the injured”.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the bereaved families.
“Deeply saddened by the tragic road accident in Ladakh in which we lost our valiant soldiers, as their vehicle fell into a gorge. The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. My sincerest condolences to them. May the injured recover at the earliest,” Shah tweeted.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda also condoled the deaths of nine soldiers.
 “Deeply pained to hear about the loss of our Army personnel in a tragic road accident near Leh in Ladakh. The nation will forever be in debt for their service. My sincere condolences to the bereaved families. May the Almighty give them strength to bear this pain. I am praying for the speedy recovery of the injured,” Nadda took to the social media platform, X. (ANI)
